I am so
humbled and honored to have been re-elected to my second term as
a "trustee" for the Oroville Union High School District.
So who am I?
A very proud mom to Jake and Richard, Zack, Lori, Crystal,
a wonderful gift from above, that is charting out his future
after graduating with the class of 2005 from Las Plumas High
School. An active member of Oroville Sunrise Rotary, a very
focused group of individuals that share a common principle,
"service above self". We share a common objective, invest in our
future, our youth.
"A trustee!"
You, are my neighbor, my family, my customer, my brothers and
sisters, my fellow citizens in this beautiful "city of gold" and
it's surrounding area, and you have placed your trust in me, to
make decisions that will be in our children's (each and every
one) best interest. "If I could light a fire in just one
child's heart to choose a productive and positive path, this
would be the victory". The goal - to foster "life long
learners, good decision makers, productive members of the
community & society" in order that they may be be better
prepared for the challenges ahead. Encourage our educators,
administrators, other school staff, and yes, the board of
trustees to take the time to encourage and acknowledge a
student's effort, applaud the little successes as they may be
huge achievements in their eyes, applaud their mistakes as they
make us all grow stronger if we make them a learning
opportunity; take time to stop and shop, have lunch with, walk
in the park, ride a skate board with, dissect a frog (eeek!),
dance with, touch the life of a young person. These are but a
few of my personal thoughts and goals.

Prior to my
retirement, I taught Biology and Computer education within the OUHSD
District for 34 years. All four of my daughters attended and graduated
from high schools within our District. I have served directly in many
school committees including Science Department Chair, WASC Committee
Chair, District Technology Mentor, and Testing Coordinator. I have a
genuine interest in serving on the Board and I feel that I will bring a
fair representation of all stake holders when difficult decisions need
to be made. |

Scott Damon

My name is Scott Damon and I’m a lifelong resident of
Oroville. I graduated from Oroville High School
in 1978 and have been the owner of Oroville Safe Lock and Door Company
since July of 1994. My
children, Ashley and Drew are both graduates of
Oroville High School and my youngest daughter, Alexandra will
enter Oroville High School in the fall of 2009.
I love all sports and have coached at
the junior varsity level at OHS.
I have also coached youth sports for many years. I love to cook,
play golf, and am very committed and involved in service at my church.
I look forward to serving the Oroville community and
working to provide the best opportunity for the education of our youth. |
