Letter from the Superintendent

January 2016

Happy New Year!

The Oroville Union High School District has been working hard to create schools that the community can be proud of. In recent years, the State of California has changed the ways schools are funded and changed the accountability model for schools.  The major change in accountability is on the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).  The LCAP and the district’s annual budget are tied together.  The plan must describe how we will serve students at all of our schools and how funds are allocated.  Your voice is critical to this process and we are interested in what you have to say.

Click here to view the district’s current LCAP.

We will be holding meetings to give all stakeholders (staff, students, parents, community) the opportunity to review our LCAP and the data.  We have scheduled three meetings to seek input:  January 19, 2016, February 26, 2016 and March 29, 2016. All meetings will be held at the Oroville High School Library from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Input and data will be used to revise the LCAP.  Our Board of Trustees will approve the LCAP this June and it will then be sent to the Butte County Office of Education for their approval.

If you are unable to attend the meetings, you can email your thoughts on the district’s LCAP by sending an email to lcap@ouhsd.org or by calling 538-2300, extension 1124, to leave a message.

As we work together to make the high schools in the Oroville Union High School District great places for kids to learn, please do not hesitate to contact me by telephone at (530)-538-2300 x 1107, or by email at cwillenb@ouhsd.org if you have questions, concerns and/or comments that I can assist you with.

Respectfully,

Dr. Corey Willenberg
Superintendent
